As a Technical Project Manager for Blackboard’s Process Innovation team, you will lead, track, and manage a broad portfolio of process improvement initiatives within the Product Development organization. You will work with Scrum teams and PD leadership to ensure alignment, transparency, and consistency across teams based on data analysis you conduct from metrics generated across Scrum teams. You will monitor the portfolio for risks and proactively engage teams in mitigation of those risks. You must be a forward thinker who can assess situations, recommend solutions, and drive positive change across an organization. 

Specific responsibilities will include: 

  • Working with the Process Innovation lead as an Agile evangelist to help drive adoption, consistency, and maturity throughout the organization 
  • Driving process improvement and consistency across 70+ Scrum teams 
  • Developing and managing dashboards and reports to enhance organizational insight into the status of projects 
  • Leading complex process improvement projects across a cross-functional Product Development organization 
  • Coordinating and tracking complex projects spanning multiple geographically distributed teams 
  • Developing and conducting training on key organizational process changes that you have delivered 
  • Creating, measuring, and reporting on key performance metrics across all Scrum teams 
  • Managing cross-team project dependencies and helping teams mitigate risks in schedule and scope 
  • Coordinating with external stakeholders in parts of the company outside of PD to ensure alignment of PD priorities with business goals 


The Candidate: 

Required skills/qualifications:

  • An understanding of and enthusiasm for Agile 
  • Light combined Agile and Technical Project Management experience 
  • An understanding of full SDLC processes 
  • Proven success as a hands-on manager of complex projects with significant organizational, process, and technical components 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Light organizational change management experience 
  • Ability to build relationships and motivate others through demonstrated integrity, trust, and humility 
  • Ability to influence and motivate diverse teams through writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills 
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects with attention to detail 
  • Proven experience driving results in a matrixed, cross-functional, multi-team environment with geographically distributed teams 
  • Ability to consolidate complex information to provide meaningful communication to stakeholders at all levels and fluidly adjust style to work effectively with individuals at any level of seniority, from technical experts to business leaders 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
