Blackboard’s Marketing Operations team is part of the Global Sales and Marketing Operations team, and partners with business stakeholders to ensure that marketing generated, qualified leads are successfully progressed to opportunities. As Marketing Business Operations Analyst, you will be a hands-on professional responsible for the monitoring, analysis, and oversight of marketing pipeline indicators. You will monitor and assess the health of the marketing lead funnel, including lead uploads, analysis, aging, and opportunity progression, ultimately supporting the conversion of leads to sales.

 

Reporting to the Director of Sales Operations, you will play a critical role in the effective operation of our marketing campaigns and programs. You will work closely with a range of stakeholders including field marketing, product marketing, events marketing, Inside Sales, Lead Development and Sales Leadership to help track and improve the success of campaigns across North America, regularly providing status on the indicators of marketing generated pipeline. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and interface directly with these internal stakeholders.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Owning lead uploads, lead analysis, lead aging and lead status reporting for North America
  • Monitoring performance of marketing funnel, and coordinating with North America field marketing team to ensure opportunities are tagged to reflect influence of marketing activities, as relevant
  • Partnering with lead development representatives and Inside Sales reps on call campaign performance, providing analysis and reporting under an established cadence
  • Modeling, analyzing, and reporting on lead generation from marketing events, determining ROI and impact on marketing pipeline
  • Coordinating with Marketing Data Analyst to design and deliver campaign performance reporting for North America Marketing campaigns
  • Assessing health of marketing funnel and regularly reporting on age of funnel, identifying stuck leads or opportunities, and partnering with field marketing to identify actions to progress mid and late funnel opportunities
  • Supporting bi-weekly pipeline review calls with campaign performance stats and other reporting needs
  • Employing and developing best practices to strengthen funnel performance, sharing practices with the rest of the marketing operations team 
  • Working closely with internal and external teams, including the wider Field Marketing and Product Marketing teams, contractors, and external agencies
  • Assisting in developing and deploying Sales Enablement tools and campaigns to the Channel Partner and Sales organizations
  • This role requires approximately 5-10% travel (international)

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-4+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with a non-technical audience, understand business needs, and translate them into analytical requirements
  • Highly organized, self-motivated and ability to make recommendations and good decisions
  • Strong planning and organizational skills and ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Innovative thinker with attention to detail – not afraid to experiment
  • Strong statistical and analytical skills
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft, SQL, and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities on multiple projects with tight deadlines while still achieving exceptional results
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead small teams and conduct meetings
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • University degree in Marketing, Business, Economics or Statistics or equivalent experience
  • SalesForce Administrative experience
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • International work experience
