Within Blackboard Global Client Experience (GCX), the Accessibility consulting team provides clients with strategic, broad ­reaching consulting services. These services include designing and planning strategies to help institutions create actionable concepts, designs, and plans that lead to better decision making; identifying and designing innovative solutions for expanding institutional presence through e­-learning programs; creating leading education technology ecosystems; enhancing educational effectiveness through an emphasis on accessible course content; helping institutions better align capabilities with mission and vision; and identifying opportunities for transforming process and practice.

 

 

The team helps clients define goals, develop financial and organizational models, and create actionable strategies for successful implementation of technology­ enhanced and/or e- learning programs. This team takes both domestic and international clients through the transformation and change required for successful program development and implementation. Consultants work in a dynamic, fast-­paced environment. The Strategic Consultant will be part of a team that works as a consulting practice, requiring all team members to be agile and able to pivot as needed. The Strategic Consultant must have a proven track record for successful implementation of online and e-­learning program development, accessible course content and delivery in education.  

 

 

Specific responsibilities will include:  

  • Leading/participating in teams of strategic consulting and other Blackboard consultants on client engagements  
  • Supporting the design/delivery of complex, large scale emerging/custom strategic accessibility offerings
  • Providing thought leadership around inclusive online and e-­learning, educational technology trends, and other topic areas. 
  • Developing new consulting solutions for possible inclusion of GCX; considering new opportunities for the team based on market trends
  • Supporting other units within Blackboard and providing pre­sale assistance to Bb Sales teams as a subject matter expert  
  • Participating in organizations that represent the e-­learning industry (membership, speaking at events, etc.)  
  • This role requires up to 50% travel

     

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • 0-2+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Proven experience with developing and implementing effective practices and strategic plans for online and e­-learning at higher education institutions or systems or K­12 or Corporate/Government
  • Proven experience with accessible/inclusive education and knowledge of the implications of an inaccessible educational environment
  • Broad understanding of education technologies including administrative systems  
  • Excellent skills in navigating issues at an academic institution and overcoming obstacles with strategic problem­-solving skills
  • An aptitude for generating client specific documents for unique implementations 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills
  • Experience in writing client presentable deliverables
  • Successful track record of leading institutions or organizations through a program of change that impacts business, processes, and technology
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to deliver high-­quality consulting engagements

 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required or equivalent experience
  • Some previous experience in developing and deploying new consulting programs/solutions
