Our Community Engagement products are mobile and communication solutions specifically designed for K-12 education, corporate and government clients. As a Client Support Engineer, you will serve as a point of escalation for the technical support team and interface directly with technical contacts of clients for such services as authentication integration, information system integration, data record analysis, and advanced troubleshooting investigation. 

Specific responsibilities will include: 

  • Contributing to client retention, adoption, and acquisition by assisting the Technical Support team in providing the highest level of industry customer support  
  • Researching, resolving, and recording complex technical and application issues
  • Creating, executing, and modifying SQL scripts to resolve issues, optimize databases, and perform data integration with third parties
  • Assisting Product Development in Defect Investigation
  • Performing system management and automation tasks via Python, vbscript, and PowerShell scripts 
  • Assisting in implementing and troubleshooting data system integration services
  • Assisting in implementing and troubleshooting authentication system services (LDAP, SAML, Google Authentication, etc.) 
  • Working with Vendors, Third Party companies, and official Blackboard Partners to establish data connections and implement data transfers for customers


The Candidate:  
Required skills/qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a computer-related field and/or equivalent certifications.  Minimum 1 year experience working with web technologies, databases, and networks or combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of databases through creating, modifying and executing SQL queries into complex data systems
  • Knowledge of Internet and web standards and technologies such as HTML, HTTPS, SFTP, JQuery, and JavaScript 
  • Versed in scripting technologies, including vbscript, PowerShell, or Python 
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with minimal supervision  

 

Preferred skills/qualifications: 

  • Experience with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), .NET, and C#  
  • Experience with Salesforce.com 
  • Experience in a SaaS environment
  • Experience in K-12, Higher Education and/or Government industries
  • Experience authoring or servicing Blackboard Web Community Manager, Mass Notification, or Connect
  • Previous data management experience
  • Fluency in languages in addition to English
