Our Marketing and Enrollment organization is looking for a knowledgeable, results-oriented Director of Marketing Strategy to join our client-facing delivery team, work directly with our Higher Education partners, and provide strategic direction for our marketing services. We’re focused on helping our clients navigate marketing and recruit students confidently by making data-driven decisions that address the big challenges facing their institutions today.

 

 

The Director, Marketing Strategy will oversee the team that completes market research, develops go-to-market strategy, and monitors overall marketing performance for campaigns that drive enrollment growth for institutions. This individual will manage the people and processes needed to develop strong, high-performing marketing campaigns for universities with unique and varied goals, objectives and needs. This person must possess a deep understanding of market research, digital marketing, brand strategy, and conversion marketing in addition to having their finger on the pulse of ongoing trends in education.

 

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

The Director, Marketing Strategy will play a critical role in managing the development and performance of the digital marketing campaigns needed to support the recruitment and enrollment process.

 

Market Research

  • Overseeing research and data analysis needs within the Marketing & Enrollment delivery team
  • Managing client-specific and cross-portfolio analysis to uncover trends, benchmarks, and data-driven recommendations
  • Comparing and analyzing client performance data with nationally reported data to track institutional performance and student success outcomes
  • Identifying opportunities for ongoing data analysis to uncover actionable insights for existing marketing & enrollment clients

 

Marketing Strategy

  • Managing the development of strategic marketing plans for clients utilizing market landscape research to provide insights for media and creative teams to incorporate into strategy
  • Driving performance for existing clients by collaborating with internal teams to launch action plans and drive paid media and enrollment improvement
  • Overseeing the development processes and templates to support marketing team in strategy planning, reporting, and client business reviews
  • Partnering with account management to provide subject matter expertise to clients when needed to support client health and strategy
  • Utilizing data and analytics to drive testing opportunities and optimization of marketing campaigns
  • Developing and managing standardized metrics that integrate and inform paid media and creative strategy
  • Building repeatable processes and methods for managing client work in marketing internally across teams and with clients
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing the talents of marketing strategy team

 

Brand Strategy

  • Participating in creative brainstorming sessions and collaboration on creative briefs
  • Communicating strategy and approach to direct reports
  • Utilizing best practices and metrics where possible to provide internal clients with insight and recommendations on deliverables

 

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (emphasis in marketing/communications/business)
  • 10+ years of digital marketing experience
  • Strong ability to collaborate with and lead marketing strategists
  • Strong attention to detail, focused on quality testing and assurance
  • Experience working in marketing or enrollment experience working in related areas as such as admissions, enrollment management, advertising or creative agency account management, digital marketing, and/or lead generation
  • Understanding of marketing strategy, digital media, lead generation and lead nurture and/or the higher education enrollment funnel
  • Ability to create and analyze reports showcasing performance KPIs using Excel or PowerPoint
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent executive presence, customer service and client-facing skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative, flexible environment
